i am. not expecting it

it’s cuffing season, & i know a lot of people out there are looking for a boo to snuggle up with to watch christmas movies & drink hot chocolate. well, for those people in need, i may have some bad news; it’s typically easier to find a bf/gf that sticks if you’re not looking.

sure, i’ve been in and out of relationships more times than i can count (most lasting no longer than a couple of weeks), but there have been a handful that have stuck. & looking back, none of the long term guys were found during cuffing season (or when i was looking).

yeah, this sounds kinda dumb. i mean, in theory, it makes sense that if i’m looking for a boyfriend (via insta, bumble, blind dates, etc.), i would have a better chance of finding someone i like, right? wrong. i think that when i’m really looking for someone is when i’m most likely to settle for anyone (& end up changing my mind in a split second). if you aren’t on the prowl, only the best options will draw your attention & those are the ones you want.

so, if you really just want someone for the season, then more power to ya & i’m sure you will have no problem finding a hot bae (just make sure they know your intentions!!). but for the rest of us looking for that deep connection stuff, my best advice is to stop looking. do you & the right person will come along eventually. bonus, it will teach you to be less reliant on them once things get further along!
